What to expect from Rod & Staff Ministries
What we provide
We provide counseling to individuals, couples, families and children older than 6. If your child is younger than 6,
we would be happy to meet with you (the parents) and help you learn how to work and deal with your child at home.
To receive counseling
In order to receive counseling from Rod & Staff, everyone seeking counseling must complete and sign the required forms
which can be obtained here on our webpage or by calling the office. Please do not fill out one form as a couple or family.
A form with signature is required from every individual (children may be assisted by parent.) When your signed paperwork
is received, you will be assigned a counselor or your name will be added to the waiting list, if necessary.
As you anticipate your appointment
As you anticipate your appointment, please understand that at times we have more people seeking counseling than available counselors.
We will do all we can to get you in as soon as possible, but a 3-8 week wait for your first appointment is not unusual. How
soon you get in for counseling also depends on your availability. (Example: Someone who can come for counseling at anytime
on any day has a better chance of getting in sooner for an appointment than someone who can only come on Tuesday evenings.)
When you have a counselor
Once you have been assigned to a counselor, you will typically meet every week on the same day at the same time for as long
as the counselor determines. On average, counseling cases last 12 weeks, but some cases could be shorter or longer.
Confidentiality
All cases are confidential. There are a few situations required by the Bible or law that are exempt of confidentiality. Such
situations include: 1. possible harm or danger to person; 2. a child being physically or sexually abused, or 3. someone
persistently refusing to stop a sinful pattern and it is necessary to seek assistance from his/her church to encourage proper
change (see Matthew 18:15-20 and Romans 13;1-7).
Other Information
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know 24 hours in advance if possible. Failure to keep
appointments and failure to complete your weekly assignments will result in discontinuing your counseling sessions.
There is no charge for the counseling. You may send a contribution to Rod and Staff Ministries, 1477 W. Main St. Suite C, Greenwood, IN 46142
Counselors will use God"s Word in every counseling session, therefore, we encourage you to always bring your Bible to the
sessions. There will also be homework assigned weekly to reinforce the counseling principles. Babysitting is not provided.
If you come to your session expecting your child(ren) to sit and wait in the lobby while you are in your session, your
appointment may be canceled for that day. Please make childcare arrangements ahead of time.
