Principles of Biblical Counseling is a 12 week course that is also often called Self-Confrontation on Unlocking the Heart. This course is designed to help you learn ways to Biblically handle situations such as relationships, fear, bitterness, anger and life dominating sins.
Implement Counseling Principles is also a 12 week course where you will dig deeper into actual counseling issues and will continue to learn how to help and counsel those in need. This course will cover topics such as learning the essentials of Biblical Counseling, identifying the problem, tearing down idols of the heart and how to handle legal issues connected with counseling.
Examining Biblical and Secular Counseling is a 6 week course in which typically the students are those extremely interested in Biblical counseling and certification. In fact, just to enter this course, you are required to have a recommendation letter from your pastor. Level 3 addresses the heavyweight topics of counseling such as physical illness, crisis counseling, psychotropic drugs and sex. Level 3 is also when you as a student start to observe counseling sessions.
NANC Theology Exam Prep is a 6-8 week course (depending on the number of students in the class). The goal of this
course is to help each student complete their NANC Theology Exam. Students will be assigned questions from the exam.
They will be expected to answer these questions on their own and present their answers to the class.
The class will learn how to fine-tune the exam answers under the instruction of the teacher. Level 4 students will also be required
to have 4 hours of assisting in counseling.
The exam is part of the NANC application process and you must obtain a membership packet from NANC
(www.NANC.org) prior to entering this class as this
contains the exam questions and other materials that will be needed in the class.
NANC Counseling Exam Prep is a 6-8 week course (depending on the number of students in the class). The goal of this course is to help each student complete their NANC Counseling Exam. Just like in Level 4, students will be assigned questions from the exam that they will be expected to answer on their own and present to the class. The class will learn how to fine-tune the exam answers under the instruction of the teacher. Level 5 students are also required to do 4 hours of lead counseling under the supervision of a NANC certified counselor.
